Cabelas

Today Uncle Jordan called and asked us to go to Cabelas with them.  We haven't been there since Brax was about 1 so we jumped in the car and drove to WV.  We spent about 4 hours in the store and then went to The Outback for dinner.  Papaw Perry and Lisa came with us too!

No wonder it took us 4 hours....this store is huge and this isnt even all of it!

In the parking lot there were 3 guys that were carving things out of logs with chainsaws

This is a bear one of the guys carved!

One of the cool things about Cabelas is the live fresh water aquarium!

This was one of Brax's favorite things here...the fighting bears

Papaw bought a harness for Brax so he can get in the treestand with him this year.....Braxton is SOOOOO excited to go hunting.  I highly doubt he will be quiet long enough for a deer to come close to the stand!

We then went to the range where Brax tried out a bow and even got to shoot an arrow.  He did awesome!

Target practice

Rilee found a stuffed deer that she just had to have....she didn't put it down the whole time we were in the store!

Brax was so excited to get home and try his new bow out!

Look What I Can Do!

Braxton came running into our bedroom saying look what I can do!!  He was so excited...he has been trying to do this for a long time now.  He was in the bathroom looking in the mirror and taught himself how to curl his tongue.  Now he does it about every 10 seconds.

Steak and Cake

Thursday we went to the Garber's house for our weekly dinner.  Chris made us steak and icecream cake...it was yummy!  The kids enjoyed playing in the yard with all of the toys including the elephant sprinkler.  One of Braxton's favorite toys is the Ford truck he can drive around the yard.  All 3 kids can fit into it and they just drive around until they run the battery dead.  At the end of the night Chris had some brush to burn so we watched from the deck.

The huge fire!

All of the toys the kids can play on.

More toys!

What a crew!

Cookout

Tuesday night 2 of my college friends came over for a cookout.  Nate cooked us his famous Hawaiian chicken and grilled potato chips!  Brax and Hudson enjoyed hanging out with the girls too.

Swim Lessons

Our friend Ashley is doing swim lessons with Braxton and I have been so proud of him!  He did such a good job of listening and working hard so he can swim in the deep end by himself.  Some of the things he has been practicing are blowing bubbles, kicking, jumping off the side and kicking to Ashley and pushing off from the side of the pool.

Sleeping

Oh how baby # 1 and baby # 2 can be so different!

Brax always has to climb up on Nate's chest when he wants to go to sleep.  He will be playing and then say daddy I want to lay on you and we know he will be out within 3 minutes!

Hudson on the other hand does not want anyone to hold him and wants to be put in his crib :)

Author Braxton Brownrigg

While both kiddos were sleeping today Brax and I decided to have a little fun just the two of us.  I had gotten a book kit for Braxton before Hudson was born and I had forgotten all about it until today.  He was so excited for this project he worked almost an hour on his new book.  I was so proud of him!!

Here are all of our supplies.  They consisted of a 10 pg book, a green marker, scissors, foam cut outs, eyeballs, a glue stick and craft paper!

Brax is proud of his work already!

Putting some glue on his foam pieces.

We have been practicing writing everyones "names" in our family.  He wanted to write Daddy's name so I told him how to write the letters and he wrote the whole thing!!!!!!!

Yes I am going to have to purchase some kid scissors.....notice he will only use his left  hand when cutting.  He also shoots a gun left handed (just like Daddy!)

He asked if he could draw his hand so he tried it.  I was impressed since some of my first grade students still struggle doing this!

This is the cover of Braxton's book and a few of the pages follow.

Maybe he will grow up and write children's books for my classroom :)

Rilee Jayde

Aunt Lindsay had to work today so Rilee came over to play with us!  She got here at 6:30 and left around 4 so we got a lot of playing in even though Rilee & Hudson both fell asleep around noon and slept until about 3:45!

Rilee playing in the toy basket before any of the boys in our house were awake.  She played with every toy Hudson has!

Brax was so excited to see Rilee when he woke up...I forgot to tell him she was coming today.

Uncle Nathan trying to get Rilee's food in her mouth.  He is a little out of practice.  Some quotes from Nate during this time "Rilee has crazy arms" and "You have to have a death grip on this food or she's going to rip it out of my hands"  I think he better start working out if a 6 month old can take food out of his hands!

The crazy crew!
